UM Toastmasters @ D51 Semi Annual Conference

Good day! 

We are delighted to share UM Toastmaster Club's achievement at the recent District 51 Toastmasters Semi Annual Conference (1-2 November 2014) at Armada Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

For your information, District 51 Toastmaster comprises more than 280 Toastmasters Clubs in Peninsular Malaysia and this event was to recognise Toastmasters Clubs which have performed well in producing great communicators and leaders. This event was attended by over 400 delegates from various Toastmasters Clubs to celebrate the key achievements over the past term.

UM Toastmaster was awarded "President Distinguished Club" for term 2013/2014, the highest achievement for a club in the Toastmasters fraternity.

In addition, the club also received 15 District pins for achieving 7 out of 10 Distinguished Club Program point in just 4 months! We couldn't have done this without our enthusiatic members!

For individual achievement, Jing Yi, our alumni member received the "President Distinguished Area" for serving as the Area Governor for Area W1. This award is also the highest recognition for area governor, signifying great leadership in leading the clubs within the area.

Three of our members attended the conference, namely Dr Devi (our former club advisor, retired lecturer from UM), Ing Ting (alumni member, current Area W1 Governor) and Jing Yi (alumni member, former Area W1 Governor).

This club has grown by leaps and bounds since 2007, therefore we wish to express our gratitude to Toastmasters International and the university for their continuous support .We will continue to groom great speakers and produce great leaders through this mutually supportive and positive environment in Toastmasters.
