Meeting No: 134

                                                Theme : Autumn
Word of the day : Relish

Autumn comes. Leaves change its colour. The will to learn doesn't waver.

As usual, the meeting room was packed with members and several guests. After a brief round of introduction, here came the Table Topic session.

Instead of being volunteered , the session saw off people like the courageous TM Nickolas and the spontaneous soon-to-be TM Yahya taking the stage by storm.

As for assignment speeches, the animal activist CC Sara enlightened us with the amazing facts about dolphins and many ways how ships and boats cruising on the sea may harm the cute creature.

Next, we had CC Wei Chin giving us a good laugh with her dramatic talk titled ‘Ignorant is not a bliss’. Lesson learnt. Remember to apply VISA beforehand when you want to visit China.

Moving on, ATMB Mustaza transformed herself into a formidable CEO, rolling out a slew of policies that encouraged commitment in Toastmasters endeavor.  However, the session proved to be a stormy one with confrontations from the heads of departments. Nevertheless, she braced the storm well and the policies were amicably accepted. Phew...

Like her hair, she definitely commands authority.

                                                  Long, long journey..

Guests must be wondering what Toastmasters can offer to them.  The Successful Club Series Speech by Jing Yi, the Area Governor came just aptly to give them a picture how a Tosatmasters journey would be like. At the same time, it served as a reminder to the members  to constantly walk out from the comfort zone.

TME Nur Syafinas.

The success of a meeting is not only made up by the fervent participation of members but also the skills of Toastmaster of the Evening (TME). It can hardly be discerned this was the first time that TM Nur Syafinas assuming the role as a TME, with the composure she showed on the stage. Good job!

Best Evaluator. CC ALB Mohammad Saifullah.

As for the evaluation session, it is never short of big names such as venerable DTM Dr. Devi and CC, ALB Mohammad Saifullah, the founder of Toastmasters in Bangladesh.( Impressive? Just google it up!) With their words and advices, improvement in oneself is just a matter of time.

General Evaluator CC Saiful Mohsin from
Pesona Toastmasters Club proffering suggestions.

Best Table Topic Speaker. CC Wei Chin.

If you deem yourself a good speaker, just come and add variety to the club. The stage always
  welcome you.

If you find yourself to be inferior one, don’t be afraid.
True. The thought of speaking in front of public is enough to make you shiver.

However, as a students-based club, University Malaya Toastmasters Club definitely provides you the room to improve your English communication skills. The environment here is not too hostile that kills one’s will to improve nor too placid that stunts one’s personal development.

It is now or never. See you!
